Pets can travel a great distance very fast. Walk and drive through the neighborhood looking for and calling your pet. Talk to neighbors and anyone who might have been in the area. Check schools, other homes or any places the animal may have gone for food or shelter. Cat owners should check under cars and in trees. Post fliers in as many places as possible and place ads in local newspapers. Provide a picture and general description of your pet, the area where lost, and your telephone numbers. Some radio stations will announce lost pets. Check the lost and found pet ads in the local newspaper everyday. Call all of the local veterinarian clinics in your area and ask to place a flyer on their bulletin board. Offer a reward. If your pet is tattooed or micro-chipped, notify the organization with which you registered your pet. If you have a reason to believe your pet was stolen, contact the police or sheriff's department. Call the Humane Society and give all the information above and we will help.
